My boss is new to Kitchener. He moved here in June and while we don’t know each other well we have a good professional relationship and get along. We haven’t spent any time together in social settings outside the office, but he seems like a good guy and as I mentioned we get along. He’s mentioned in passing that he doesn’t have any family that he’s close with and he would be staying here and spending Christmas alone.
I’m thinking of inviting him to spend Christmas with my family, but I don’t want him to feel like he has to to say yes. I also wonder if others in the office will think I’m sucking up to him. I just hate to think think he’s spending that day on his own. Should I just go ahead and ask him or is this a bad idea?
