After years of house league and years of asking us, we’ve finally signed our son up for a rep team. Well, it’s the development program for the rep team in our area. He’ll practice and play for a year and then there will be tryouts and cuts.
The great debate in our house is how much is too much?
By the time we found out he made this team, we’d already signed him up for house league and the season has started. He’s also in swimming lessons one night a week.
I think we need to suck it up short term because we already committed. Plus swimming is a non-negotiable for me; my kids need to learn to swim.
Swimming goes through November and house league until February. We won’t sign up for anything else when these finish but for now it’s short term pain. I don’t think pulling out of house league sets a good example for him. What do you think?
