Everyone has that friend who is always bashing herself. Or maybe it’s you?


Research suggests that this habit of body-shaming can actually lead to weight gain over time and one 2012 study.

Another study from Notre Dame researchers, found that women who constantly criticize themselves about their eating or exercise habits are less liked than overweight women that are comfortable with their bodies. Many women think ‘fat talk’ is a way to relate to other women, but it turns out to be a BIG turn-off.

So ladies, shut up about calorie counting, getting your steps in, and just enjoy the body that you have. Apparently not only will your confidence sky rocket, but you’ll make new friends too!
