STEP UP & BREATHE EVENT

Steeltown Stair Climb

When lung disease strikes, it doesn’t affect one person; it deeply impacts the whole family. And who knows better than the fire department personnel and their families; and our brave men and women fighting overseas amidst explosions and gasses.

Our 4th stair climb will draw folks from Brantford, Hamilton and across the province and beyond with both civilian and first responder participants raising funds for lung research and programs. With more than three million Ontarians suffering from lung disease, the firefighter families understand the need to fund research NOW. The organizing committee wants to be part of the solution ensuring that another family does not lose a loved one to lung disease; we need your help to achieve this.

Our local office’s goal for 2018 is to raise and contribute $160,000 to lung health research; in order to realize that goal, the funds raised at the Steeltown Stair Climb will play a very significant role in our fund raising efforts. Since 2005, the McMaster team has raised and contributed $2,118,358.00 to research. Please help us reach the $2.25 million hump!

With this in mind, please accept my personal request to consider joining our firefighter family for this fun filled morning on Saturday November 10, 2018 at the historic Stelco Tower in Jackson Square 100 King St W Hamilton. Help us make history! We have categories for everyone; kids, civilian, families, pre-Fire Fighters, EMS, Police, Corporate and Fire fighters in full gear.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Lung Association’s research program-lifesaving research that desperately needs funding. This research is conducted right here in Hamilton at McMaster University and the Firestone Institute of Respiratory Health.

Join us as a Sponsor, participant, or a volunteer; there are many ways to help us achieve our goal.
