Festival of Trees

Have you ever been to a “rock concert” for reading? This is your chance to be part of the largest literary event for young readers in Canada, the Festival of Trees! The Festival of Trees is the celebration for the school-aged and French-language programs of the Forest of Reading® in Toronto, with other satellite Festivals taking place across Ontario. We are thrilled that one of the satellite Festivals will be in Waterloo Region this year, and we hope this will be a three-year initiative for our region!

The Waterloo Region District School Board, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, the Kitchener Public Library, the Waterloo Public Library, the Idea Exchange, and the Region of Waterloo Public Library along with the Festival of Trees committee is hosting the Region’s inaugural Forest of Reading, “Festival of Trees” event in Kitchener. Our target goal is to have an audience of 1,500 students from Grade 4 – 8 attend, meet 10 authors, and participate in educational workshops and fun activities for the day.

The Festival of Trees will be held in Waterloo Region at The Aud on Friday May 18th, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tickets to this event will be $11.00/student or adult.
