My mother and brother; Denise Gauthier and Lloyd Stamas are two victims of the flood who have been left with no possessions and no home to return to. With feezing water entering the windows of their home and becoming waste-deep within a matter of minutes, they’ve been left with physical and emotional scars as well as incalculable damage to their home and belongings.
They were rescued by firefighters, requiring boats to reach them, with only the clothes on their back and 3 cats that had to be transported in pillowcases… They were sheltered at a nearby local church for the night immediately following the disaster and are currently staying at a hotel with the cats, trying to recover the best that they can.
